Text Box: Rose Ball 2001 a Major Success! On 25-28 May 2001, over 50 Brothers and their dates attended Rose Ball 2001 which was the 30th Anniversary of the founding of our Chapter. Most of the Brothers attending were under Delta Beta 200. Paul Hilton, DB530, was our model initiate during our Saturday business meeting. Paul was part of the original Kappa Phi Colony, but never got initiated due to monetary reasons. Paul and his wife came from South Carolina to be a part of our celebration. Everyone felt that after a 30 year pledge period, Paul was more than qualified to become our newest Brother! During the Saturday night banquet, Tom Dalton, Lambda Chapter, and Tom Drake, DB1, spoke on the founding of our Chapter. Tom Dalton spoke on how we started and how there is a reason things happen. Even though Tom was initiated in Lambda Chapter at UGA, he has always considered himself to be a Delta Beta Raider and we are glad to have him as our Brother. Tom Drake challenged each Brother to pledge $100 a year for five years to add money to our general fund for a future house purchase. Tom then presented a check for $100 towards his pledge. Over $1000 was raised that night by Brothers willing to make the same pledge. Thanks to Tom Drake for challenging all of us to work harder for our Chapter and setting the example for others to follow. Our First Annual John Allen Moore Memorial Golf Tournament raised $850 for PUSH. Thanks to P.J. Rodgers, DB23, for putting on the golf tournament. LTC Lee Hackle, DB227, is an Aviation Brigade XO in Korea. Tim Stone, DB341, can be reached at www.petmystone.com. Paul Wingo, DB134, was promoted to Colonel in May and will PCS to Hawaii this Summer. Tom Williams, DB380, is living in Escondido, CA. Drew Brown, DB329, is stationed at Fort McPherson, GA. Jay Curry, DB328, is stationed in Fort Lewis, WA. Burton Williams, DB323, started his new job with Rock-Tenn Inc., in Norcross, GA. Rodney Gwaltney, DB69, has been suffering from Lou Gehrig’s Disease for 12 years. Please pray for him and his family. Don Durant, DB58, was promoted to Colonel in March.

Text Box: Pi Kapp Land Sold The 4 acres that Delta Beta Chapter owned in Dahlonega was sold in March for $28,000. After taxes and fees, over $24,000 was deposited in the general fund of the Corporation.
