PUSH America Support Needed

I am Scott Newman, DB 585, son of Larry Newman DB 104, and I have decided to represent our Chapter in this year's Journey of Hope. I will cycle across America from Florence, OR to Washington, DC, with 90 brothers of Pi Kappa Phi from chapters around the country. I will proudly represent North Georgia, Delta Beta Chapter, and Pi Kappa Phi through this event.

The mission statement for Push America is building leaders of tomorrow by serving people with disabilities today. Push America serves people with disabilities through disability awareness, fund raising, and volunteerism.

Push America is Pi Kappa Phi's own national philanthropy and was founded in 1977 by Thomas Sayre as a way to unite all chapters of Pi Kappa Phi in support of a single philanthropy. The Journey of Hope has been a proud part of Push America since 1988 when the first 20 man team began in San Diego. The Journey of Hope has grown since its beginnings from one route and 20 team members to three routes and 90 team members. It is now the largest fundraiser and awareness campaign of Push America

The Journey of Hope is very important to our chapter and in order to participate I must raise a minimum of $5,000, not including equipment and airfare. I am asking for your help in making tax-deductible donations to Push America or by donating equipment to me. Simply go to
wwwpushamericaorg click on donate, click on sponsor a team member, and type in Newman. Follow the instructions for donations. If you have any questions or would like to help me in any other way, email me at smnewm4210@ngcsuedu or call me at (256) 656-3104. Thank you for your support.

Yours in Pi Kappa Phi,

Scott Newman
