PUSH AMERICA TEAMS ARRIVE IN D.C. The Journey of Hope and Build America teams have cycled and constructed their way across the country spreading awareness for people with disabilities, and have done so with great success. On Saturday, August 12, the Journey of Hope and Build America teams arrived at the Capitol building to a cheering crowd of more than 350 supporters, including family, friends, fellow Pi Kappa Phi members, fraternity volunteers and Push America volunteers. The arrival celebration culminated in an elegant banquet hosted at the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill where master of ceremonies and former Journey of Hope cyclist Michael Baughman, Beta (Presbyterian College), provided inspiring words about Push America and its impact on Pi Kappa Phi. As Push America’s teams traveled through 31 states, lives were touched all across America during “friendship visits.” During these visits Journey of Hope and Build America team members were able to interact with and make friends with people in the disability community. |
